Now a Better Way To View My Website Portfolio
As Trini’s say, ‘this last meeting’ my site has been under intense scrutiny via a noticeable spike in the local website market. I’m not sure if my competitors have experienced a similar spike, though I’m sure they’ve been noticing me, but in May alone I’ve achieved my quota for May and June.
In addition to my articles, my project portfolio has been hard at work and I’ve been getting feedback that prompted me to think about refining the process to make evaluating me easier and faster.
New Featured Websites Portfolio Page
This new page complements my existing portfolio page filterable by year. While it’s nice to see the growth in websites from my initial start in 2011, some of my earlier sites have been left to lapse by clients. The result is some non-working links.
This leaves me in a dilemma on whether to remove them or not, as after all they were actual projects. So, I decided to create a specially formatted portfolio page featuring my better and best work.
Specifically the selling points of this new page are:
1. Past website projects by industry
This happened accidentally and I ran with it, and it’s such a great idea and nice touch. I had to think about how to properly classify and come up with the correct categories by industry and I’ll refine it as I go along.
Anyway, this obviously makes it easier you see what kind of sites I did, especially if you’re in a similar industry. If you don’t see your industry, that doesn’t mean I’m not up to it, far from the truth!
2. Description of site features
My original portfolio by year has descriptions of the companies which was intended to promote my clients. My new page now describes the websites themselves and any unique features, custom work and other points worth mentioning.
3. Links to all websites on one page
Now potential clients can go to any or all of the sites on this page without having to navigate out and back. All website links open in a new tab automatically so you never have to leave the page.
These websites are all functioning and represent a cross-section of sites that obtain a better than average attention from their owners. As you know, most Trini sites tend to remain exactly where they were after launch. That’s something completely out of my control
4. My 'Bettter' and 'Best' website projects
There are a variety of reasons why some websites come out good and some great. Great sites cost MONEY. Great sites have GREAT CONTENT, both of which need to be supplied by the client. Unfortunately, my work is affected when both of these fall short.
Hence the reason to not judge me solely on the sites themselves as some of them couldn’t be all they could be. However, use MY OWN SITE as an example of what can be achieved when not ‘chinksing’ and going all out for a website.
Conclusion
Expect this list to grow of course, so more industries will be added. One additional one is Real Estate coming soon as I have two such sites in the works. I’ll continue to refine the structure to make the task of evaluating me for your project easier even though it should already be a forgone conclusion. I’m the best web designer in Trinidad & Tobago… but you already knew that!
